TURFFONTEIN – Cotlands launched a fundraising campaign ‘Donate your birthday’ alongside Connell Cruise on March 26 at their premises, Stanton Street, Turffontein.

The concept behind the campaign is one that wants to address the education and social crisis by establishing early learning playgrounds and toy libraries in poor communities. Individuals, corporatations and social or charitable clubs are given the opportunity to raise funds of Cotlands’ Early Child Development programmes in a fun yet meaningful way.

This campaign will be live from April 1 and is based online; it uses the Cotlands website to house unique campaign pages where donors can register and create mini-profiles.

Singer/songwriter, Connell Cruise has already pledged his birthday (May 15). “I’m very proud to be a part of this campaign. The only thing I regret is that I didn’t come up with it myself. I love the fact that Cotlands has these programmes, and are helping children who have been abandoned by the world, and who now have a chance to make a meaningful contribution,” he said.

Other famous faces donating their birthdays this year include rapper Miza as well as FMH model and businesswoman Shashi Naidoo, who started donating two years ago.
