Kibler Park housebreaking criminals out of luck

The owner of the home said she came across two men strolling down Sunningdale Road near her home as she was taking her children to school.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – A quick Whatsapp alert on a burglary in process on Sunningdale Road, Kibler Park posted on the Mondeor SAPS Sector 1, 2, 3 group, resulted in a swift arrest of two housebreaking suspects.

Four criminals were breaking and entering into a home on March 17. What these criminals didn’t anticipate was the brave response by the neighbours.

The criminals could not escape under the watchful eye of the proactive residents. Not long after the alert was posted, the scene was crawling with law enforcement.

The owner of the home said she came across two men strolling down Sunningdale Road near her home as she was taking her children to school.

“”I was suspicious of them, because if they worked in the area they would have been rushing to their work and not strolling around the neighbourhood. So I stalled a bit, while I surveyed their movements,” she said.

The neighbours said they saw a black Elantra idling outside the house and wrote down the vehicle registration.

“The one guy saw me, I shouted at them and then the other three guys ran out,” said the neighbour who scared off the men.

The neighbour’s wife added: “I heard the dog barking, and that dog never barks. When I came out, I saw the men and they saw me. When they came running out, one ran towards me. I was shaking, but I managed to type a Whatsapp message on the Mondeor SAPS Sector 1, 2, 3 CPF group.”

Two suspects were apprehended by Mondeor SAPS Sector 1, 2, 3 CPF officers Dinesh Chetty, Jerome Singh, Joel Ramatlo and Trevor not far from the home they tried to break into.

The other two suspects are still at large at the time of going to print.
