The Hill Community patrollers car wash

A significant decline in crime and loitering in the community is evident, due to the visibility of the patrollers.

THE Hill – The Hill Community Patrollers hosted a car wash fundraiser for their patrollers on Saturday March 7 at Regent Bowling Club.

They also created awareness by speaking to residents regarding the benefits of the patrollers within the community. Many new acquaintances were made.

“We could hardly keep up with the cars needing to be washed, we were so grateful for the support. With a turnout of more than 50 cars washed, donations and sales from various foods and beverages, a fair total was raised on the day,” said Natasha Stevenson.

Proceeds and donations will go towards assisting current and potentially new members of The Hill Patrollers in getting them equipped to help and look after the community effectively.

A significant decline in crime and loitering in the community is evident, due to the visibility of the patrollers who put in their personal time and effort to ensure the neighbourhood is free of potential crime.

“We would like to thank the residents of The Hill for their overwhelming support during our car wash fundraiser as well as for funds donated during the course of the day and prior to the event. It gives us great pride to live in an area with such an upstanding community.

“We express our appreciation and gratitude to the companies and individuals who sponsored and contributed to the success of the day. To mention just a few, we would like to thank, Susan Annandale and Tila Dias for their delicious boerewors and prego rolls, to Mytech for donating a CCTV home security system for the raffle, to Karcher SA for the supply of a jet wash and vacuum, to J&N Glass for their generous donation, TPS Security for their generous cash donation and to Roy who provided Regent Bowling Club as a venue to host our event. Most importantly, the community who came out to support us and to those who couldn’t make it and still donated,” noted Natasha.
