Another musician shot in Rosettenville

Ironically, this is the same area where the famous Reggae musician, Lucky Dube, was shot and killed in late October 2007. His Chrysler was taken on the day.

ROSETTENVILLE – A case of hijacking and attempted murder was opened at Moffatview Police Station after a well known musician was shot during hijacking in Rosettenville.

Moffatview Police Communication Officer Constable Bila confirmed the incident. “The complainant mentioned that at about 20:05, he parked his vehicle, a black Audi A4, at the gate outside his yard and went inside. There were three young boys walking along the street. The complainant stayed in the house for about 20 minutes, and he decided to go to Shoprite to buy cigarettes. When he left the house, he unlocked the car using his remote control, and waiting for his son, who was supposed to go with him.

“He was approached by three black men at the driver’s side. One of them cocked the firearm and forced the door open. The suspect fired one shot, which struck his ring finger and forced him to move to the passenger’s seat, but he managed to get out. All the suspects got inside the vehicle and fired another shot and drove away. His phone, iPad, Nokia cellphone and house keys was also in the car,” explained Constable Bila.
