Help needed at burnt house

Ward 57 Cllr Faeeza Chame appeals to the community and businesses to assist.

SOUTH HILLS – An electrical fault was the cause of the fire that destroyed Mrs Thozama Xabendini’s house in Bethlehem Street, South Hills last month.

No injuries were reported as there was no one in the house, but almost everything was burned.

Ward 57 Cllr Faeeza Chame appeals to the community and businesses to assist.

“My heart really went out to Mrs Thozama Xabendini and that is why I am making this request to the community and businesses to assist. She is a widow with four children aged 20 years (boy) and three girls; 18, 11 and nine years. Mrs Xabendini is the only breadwinner and at this moment she really needs all the help she can get,” explained Cllr Chame.

These are some of the items she desperately needs: paint, ceiling boards, roofing, a door frame, window frames, flooring, blankets, curtains, furniture new or second hand, household utensils or any unused goods.

Anyone who want to assist can contact Cllr Chame on 082 518 4375.
