JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – A suspect’s panic run gave him away to the police when Reservist Sergeant Sithole and Cst Ngogela were patrolling sector 1 on Saturday January 3.
The suspect was chased on foot and also by vehicle at about 18:00, after his brown leather jacket caught the attention of the officers at the corner of Johannesburg Road and 8th Street, La Rochelle.
Police reported that the African man saw the police and started running towards Turf Street, prompting Reservist Constable Ngogela to jump out and chase him on foot, while Sergeant Sithole drove behind him.
Cst Ngogela caught the man and searched him to find the unlicensed firearm.
