MOFFATVIEW – A motorist was arrested driving a white VW Jetta in Summer Crescent, Moffatview. The registration tested positive to a stolen white hyundai.
The suspect in the vehicle was noticed by Reservist Sergeant Smith, who made a radio call to identify the Jetta driving in front of him.
Reservist Sergeant Smith pulled over the vehicle and informed the driver that the number on his registration plates belonged to a white Hyundai, reported stolen.
While inspecting the car, he found that the car had no license disc and no chassis number, but the engine number came out as a positive stolen on two different number plates.
The driver, who claimed to be repairing the vehicle, was arrested and taken to Moffatview SAPS and the vehicle was taken to Alberton.
