Gold Reef City reopens Back O’ The Moon

Back O’ The Moon also introduces its new Moon Light Lounge, a chic cognac and cigar bar.

ORMONDE – Gold Reef City is in the process of renovating various outlets, part and parcel of the complex’s multi-million rand development upgrade scheduled to be completed mid-2015.

Back O’ The Moon is one of the restaurants currently being refurbished – owned and run by Gold Reef City; it is one of the eight restaurants that will offer the guests an exclusive gourmet experience.

Based on the famous shebeen from old Sophiatown in the late 1950’s, Back O’ The Moon is a modern interpretation of the iconic 1950’s bar in Sophiatown. Apart from the unique and classy ambience, the restaurant offers a sophisticated world-class dining experience with a five-star menu.

“I am delighted to announce the relaunch of the legendary Back O’ The Moon Restaurant. The restaurant has been restored to its former glory, a depiction of style and sophistication for the discerning palette,” says Mike Page, Director of Operations and General Manager for Gold Reef City.

Back O’ The Moon also introduces its new Moon Light Lounge, a chic cognac and cigar bar. By night, the dining experience will be complemented by a resident band providing vibey live entertainment, reliving the jazz sounds of years gone by, making this venue the ultimate stylish night out as well.

Gold Reef City has also opened the doors to the new Vigour & Verve restaurant, Magic Company and a Kaya FM satellite studio. Other highlights which will be completed over the next few months include the Tsogo Sun movie franchise, Movies@ featuring a six cinema complex, a 12-lane bowling alley, a medley of eight new restaurants and fast food court.
