A big thank you from residents of Reuven

The festive season started early when Ward 124 Cllr Sydney Radebe, Region F; and his helpers organized a well-deserved Christmas lunch for the more than 300 Reuven residents, there was enough food for a second helping and enough to take home.

REUVEN – The festive season will long be remembered by residents of Reuven Complex Old Age Home, for the generosity and kindness of so many organizations, churches, businesses, societies and many their institutions.

Also people who have worked so hard to share their valuable time to brighten and to put some joy and love into the lives of so many old people especially the forlorn, the lonely and neglected. On behalf of Reuven residents the residents wish to express their grateful thanks and appreciation to all those who shared their love and kindness, their sacrifice to reach out to the elderly.

The festive season started early when Ward 124 Cllr Sydney Radebe, Region F; and his helpers organized a well-deserved Christmas lunch for the more than 300 Reuven residents, there was enough food for a second helping and enough to take home.

A few days later Sue Lubbe and Friends organized a glittering Christmas lunch, at Reuven, with lots of entertainment and a Father Christmas who gave out Christmas gift parcels to each resident.

On Christmas Eve, Lewens Sentrum Church from Alberton came with an army of volunteers, mostly young people, who entertained and served the residents with enough to eat and drink and gave generous gift parcels.

Genesis Educare Centre, Meals on Wheels and Shekinah Ministries, distributed gift parcels, and Jeanette Ross with assorted vegetables gift packs, there were a number of other organizations and private people who continuously give out love offerings or provide various services who all deserve our sincere thanks.

The Braai on New Year’s Eve: Mrs Caroline Ngoasheng, chairperson of the Reuven Committee, was determined that the old year should not pass without Reuven residence celebrate the day with a braai. She soon realized that raising funds during that time of the year was not going to be easy, but she was amazed at the generous contributions that came from all sources.

For this, Caroline wishes to thank the following, Gale Pocket, Vanessa Mandosa, Christine Crossley and Errol Ngoasheng and the many others who made their contributions, the New Year’s Eve Braai was celebrated in grand style, until the dawn of the New Year.
