Wild cat found in Joburg CBD

Do you have any information pertaining to the death of the Serval?

JOHANNESBURG – The Johannesburg SPCA was called to a scene on Friday morning December 5, by Johannesburg Metro Police Department, where JSPCA Inspector Dlamini found a dead Serval in a green plastic bag on Von Weillig Road, between Pritchard and Jeppe Streets in Johannesburg CBD.

“We at this stage cannot confirm if the cat was indeed shot / stabbed to death. The cat is being sent to an independent laboratory for a post mortem.

“We suspect at this stage, the cat has been dead for over 24 hours due to the condition of the body,” says Jolene Delport, PR Officer at the JSPCA.  “We are appealing to the public, to come forward with any information relating to the death of this animal.”
