Randeor Principal retires after 18 years’ service

Goodbye: Learners and teachers at Mondeor school say goodbye to beloved school principal

MONDEOR – After almost two decades of service at Randeor School in Mondeor, school Principal Mr Nel has decided to bow out at the age of 60.

When he made the move to the South from a school in Roodepoort 18 years ago, Mr Nel was ready and prepared to take on the task of being the best principal and to give his all to the stakeholders at his new school.

“It’s been an honour to serve the community and be part of contributing to the education of learners,” said principal Nel.

“Learners know I’m leaving at the end of this year. I’ve received good wishes and some letters and cards.”

Asked whether the move to retire was an emotional one, principal Nel continued: “It’s been so much part of one’s life, it feels like I’m leaving my own children behind. I planned my retirement throughout my career that when I’m 60 I will retire.”

At the end of the year Principal Nel will complete his studies in mediation law. He said he was looking forward to further assisting the community, only this time in a different way. When the year 2015 comes, Nel will be a qualified mediator and will immediately start practicing.

Although principal Nel has some hobbies such as woodwork and knife making, he will not be taking it slowly.
