Serial rapist aka ‘One man’ prowls streets

Suspicion and fear: Social media are abuzz about strange circumstances surrounding escape of dangerous criminal also known as One Man.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – VICTIMS of the man whose name is ‘Innocent’ are terrified of what this dangerous criminal could possibly do to them now that he’s free to prowl Johannesburg streets.

One of Lungisani Innocent Mdlolo’s victims suffered a stroke after the nightmare encounter, while other victims of this callous criminal were revealed to have suffered depression during court proceedings on November 28.

Described as a criminal of opportunity, Lungisani Innocent Mdlolo terrorised women-headed households in Soweto, South of Johannesburg.

While the nation observed 16 Days of Activism on November 25, Innocent’s victims were enduring a court case, hoping to get justice for the crimes of violence against them by this serial rapist.

This man who was due to be sentenced on December 2 for a series of serious cases ranging from three counts of rape, five counts of armed robbery, ten of housebreaking and theft, one murder case, possession of an unlicensed firearm and a charge for pointing a firearm at a Palmridge Magistrates Court.

According to social media posts, many found it alarming that Innocent Mdlolo was the only suspect who appeared at the court without leg-irons, claiming that the dangerous suspect had at previous court appearances always attended in shackles.

“How can this guy be the only one to not be put in shackles when going to court, when the others were all in shackles? I smell a dead rat,” asked a Facebook user.

A report by The Star newspaper alleged that out of 12 suspects appearing in court together with the suspect in question, Lungisani Innocent Mdlolo was the only suspect without leg-irons.

Mdlolo was seen on video footage leaving the court house at 09:17.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini stated an investigation was under way regarding the circumstances surrounding the escape.

A warrant of arrest was issued by a judge and a man hunt is on-going until Mdlolo is back in police custody.
A Facebook status by SAPS Official page noted that anyone who might have assisted him to escape would face criminal charges.
