Police warning about Christmas season

Warn your domestic helpers about people coming to your house posing as government workers

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – With criminals always looking for ways to manipulate those vulnerable so they could get away with their money or valuables, Booysens SAPS would like to warn residents in advance.

“We are coming towards the end of the year and Christmas season, and there is a large number of people looking for extra income before going home for the holiday season.

“Management at Booysens SAPS is appealing to the community that if you do consider assisting these people and you do employ them, please ensure that you have a recent copy of the person’s identification and/or work permit and most recent address where they live, along with a contact number.

“This is to assist in keeping the required records as well as having contact details in case something should happen. Please also warn your domestic helpers about people coming to your house posing as government workers and asking permission to enter your premises to obtain information. Please do not allow anyone unless you have verified their details.”
