Books donated from Western Australia

Books donated all the way from Down Under

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Crestview Primary School was fortunate to benefit from The Rotary Club of Hannans Literacy Project recently.

The rotary club of Hannans in Australia allowed the school to select books for the benefit of learners to the value AU$1 000 and specified that their preferred supplier was Bargain Books.

Since most books in the school library are very dated, it was decided to use the entire amount to purchase books which the children would enjoy borrowing and where the most children would benefit.

Working with Bargain Books in The Glen, the school is able to purchase 134 beautiful books, half of which are non-fiction and will thus assist with research learners need to do for various subjects.

The school is currently accessing the books for inclusion into the library and learners are waiting eagerly to borrow the books as they are being placed onto the shelves. There are even waiting lists for some of the books.

Each book has the details of the donor inside the front cover so that, for years to come, the school will remember the generosity of The Rotary Club of Hannans, who was kind enough to provide books for a small school in South Africa.
