Two ATMs bombed in Booysens

Third ATM bombing in a week in South.

BOOYSENS – FNB and Standard Bank ATMs at Viva Supermarket, Mentz Street were bombed by six men and undisclosed amount of money was taken on Thursday October 23.

At 05:45 employees from the supermarket were opening the premises when they were approached by six unknown males. Warrant Officer Lorraine van Emmerik confirmed the incident.

“Two of them were armed, one with sort gun and the other with pistol. The suspects entered the shop and bombed the ATMs. They fled in a white BMW 3 series. Explosive unit on the scene,” explained W/O Van Emmerik.

Another ATM was bombed in Rosettenville, corner Verona and Bouquet streets this week.
