Meals on Wheels Annual Cook-a-thon

This Annual Cook-a-thon will be held at No. 83 Heidelburg Road, City Deep, Production Park.

JOHANNESBURG – On November 19 and 20, Meals on Wheels are planning on having their second Annual Cook-a-thon with all their sponsors and partners.

The aim is to prepare between 8 000 and 10 000 hot nourishing meals over the two days for those less fortunate in the Gauteng area.

They are accommodating eight companies per day. The volunteers will be welcomed by the Meals on Wheels team and then have Drum Tribe captivate them with a thrilling, exciting gumboot dancing experience. The group will then be allocated work stations and their culinary skills will be put to the test. The group will comprise of seven to eight team members who will be required to chop, peel, slice and dice the food as well as deliver the meals to those less fortunate. The teams will be judged on hygiene, cleanliness, appearance of the food and the taste of the food.

Meals on Wheels also have special prizes for the team that creates the funkiest chefs outfits for the day! Go on be creative!

Meals on Wheels Community Services would like to invite you to be part of this wonderful day and participate in the activities.
