JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – On Tuesday August 19 Constable Ledwaba and Warrant Officer Nyandeni were patrolling at Mona and Lawn streets, Rosettenville, when they arrested two suspicious men carrying an unlicensed firearm at 20:10.
The officers spotted the two men walking and asked to search them, but one of the men ran away. He was caught by Constable Ledwaba at Japie Street after he gave chase.
The officers searched the suspect and found an unlicensed firearm with a serial number filed off.
The suspect mentioned that he bought the firearm from Alfred, but he refused to show the police where they could find Alfred.
The two were taken to Moffatview SAPS after being arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and conspiracy to commit a crime.
