Youth disappointed at Madonsela attack

Why is MKMVA still kept even 20 years after democracy?

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The National Freedom Party Youth Movement (NFPYM) is extremely disappointed at the recent attack on Advocate Thuli Madonsela by ANC military wing, the uMkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA).

“We all know what used to happen to people who were called spies or accused of being one. Kebby Mphatsoe’s utterances that Advocate Thuli Madonsela was the enemy of the ANC and government is inciting violence against her. We view this senseless and barbaric statement as a message that Adv. Madonsela must be dealt with in the same old ways they used to do.

“Again, as the NFPYM we no longer see the relevance of such a structure in our society, because other military wings were dissolved a long time ago.

“Why is MKMVA still kept even 20 years after democracy? Apartheid is long gone and there’s no threat to South Africa, except this group of veterans who are a societal danger.

“MK must close shop. They must be disbanded, unless they are waiting to start a war the day the ANC loses power. We can’t have a structure whose presence does not assist the country in any way, but instead is costly and boasts leaders who clearly cannot think but speak hogwash,” NFPYM secretary-general Busi Tshabalala said.

Tshabalala described Mr Mphatsoe sentiments that President Zuma must not pay back the money because he did not ask for security upgrades at his home as unsubstantiated.

“The MKMVA do not have legitimate reasons behind their belief, other than blind loyalty. If my memory serves me well, even people of Gauteng did not ask for e-tolls, yet they are paying for them.

“We still maintain that President Zuma must give Chapter 9 institutions the same respect he provides the ANC. He must pay back some of the money,” Tshabalala added.
