Sewage overflow in Oakdene

A corner stand on Boundary Lane and Hartjie Street, Oakdene has been plagued by problems over recent months, with dumped rubbish being a very real issue the residents have had to contend with.

OAKDENE – On Monday August 25, a reader phoned the CHRONICLE to report a blocked drain.

“Raw sewage is streaming down the road. It’s bubbling up from the drain and the smell is terrible. Residents in this area have had more than their fair share of problems with this particular piece of land.

“No one seems to know who it belongs to. If it’s municipal it should be looked after better than this,” she complained.

The CHRONICLE will endeavour to find out who the land belongs to and follow up.
