Dog court case won

The suspect appeared in court on July 25 and pleaded guilty to the charges. He now has a criminal record and a suspended sentence for five years.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Inspector Gideon Morar went to investigate and found an emaciated Boerboel who was chained with no food or water. The dog was also covered in ticks.

Due to the severity of the dog’s condition, Inspector Morar immediately removed him and brought him to JSPCA’s expert veterinary team for help.

Unfortunately, despite JSPCA veterinary team’s best efforts, the dog passed away after three days of intensive treatment.

A case of animal cruelty was opened at the Protea Glen SAPS.

The JSPCA would like to thank the supportive SAPS team who did not waste any time with bringing the suspect to justice.
