JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – WARD 55’s DA Councillor Rashieda Landis is warning residents of fake municipal agents who are out to evict and allocate people to flats illegally.
“These fake agents target the elderly and the unemployed who are behind on their payments. They force them out of their flats by claiming that the municipality wants them out.
“I want people to be aware that only the municipality can evict and allocate people. These fraudsters have formed a bad group that illegally evict people out of their units.
“People must not allow these illegal committee to evict them. If they try doing that to you, contact me on 083 752 6468 or Gregory Magget from Eureka House on 082 559 3761,” said Cllr Landis.
There were people who almost lost their home but fortunately they contacted the councillor and she intervened. The fraudulent agents only got away with the money of the buyer, but could not evict the family who acted swiftly to contact the councillor.
“People must know that I am a councillor. I also do not evict or allocate, but I will not allow the illegal eviction and terrorising people, because that is trespassing,” Cllr Landis added.
