Community in The Hill cleans up neighbourhood

THE HILL – Across from The Hill High School is a sports facility that has run down. The Club House has been stripped. Doors, toilets, light fittings, basins and windows have been stolen. The community’s biggest fear is that girls has been dragged into the club and hurt.

Talisman Foundation has been very supportive towards the clean-up project. They made sure that doors were installed. City Parks has also been part of the project, making sure that all the refuse bags were moved.

“We need more people to be involved, this is a concern for all living in the area. First Plumbing donated a toilet. Please, we need a plumber to install it,” Sylvia Glade pleaded.

They hosted their Mandela Day at the park. The event was a success; even if they did not have much help from the residents in the area. Special thanks goes to Fernando from Spar Kenilworth, who offered to pay for the rolls.

“Please let’s clean up and keep our suburb clean, let the kids be safe. Please contact me if you need more information or how to get involved,” Sylvia said. She can be contacted at 084 044 0061.

Sport in the Park will be hosted on the Saturday August 9, and Sylvia invites all the different sports stakeholders in the area to join them.
