Councillor to improve infrastructure and rubbish removals.

Fay Chame wants to work closely with the SAPS and local patrollers to ensure safety in the ward.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – DA ward 57 Councillor Fay Chame believes that leadership is a potent combination of strategy and integrity. And she is excited about the prospect of being the people’s voice in the ward.

“Public service and affordable housing is a serious issue. Government should spend money on projects that will sustain and beautify the area. Some of that money can be used for the upgrading and repairing of the existing units and buildings.

“Our roads are a major concern with potholes and then there are all the overflow of leaking drains, which is cause for serious health issues. All this issues need serious attention and is long overdue.

“Local government is responsible for many facilities and services that we use on a daily basis. Although I have seen many improvements, more is required to meet the demands of our growing population and to improve our quality of life.

“My vision is to see more open spaces for everyone to enjoy, and more facilities for our senior residents. Improvements of roads and infrastructure and more rubbish removals.

“I want to work closely with the SAPS and our local patrollers to insure the safety of our locals. I also want to affect change and add value to my community.

“My short term goal will be to serve as a councillor and be successful. I will be committed to accessing educational and professional development opportunities. We should all believe in a transparent process, where decisions are based on complete and accurate information along with community input.

“Council also has to balance public expectations and stakeholder demands with responsible resource allocation. I will work hand in hand with the council to insure the betterment of my community,” said Fay.
