Cable thieves caught red-handed

These guys were caught in broad daylight loading cable into their van.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Two cable thieves were caught cutting cables after an employee from City Power made an urgent call to report the crime while it was taking place.

The two cable thieves were caught with their ‘izinyoka’ equipment, busy cutting the city’s cables at Ormonde on Tuesday June 24, during daytime at 13:00.

The Community Service Centre was contacted by the employee of City Power, who is part of the team that investigates cable theft.

The suspects were using a van to load the cable, which was cut.

Booysens Police is currently investigating and a case of possession of stolen property was opened.
