South Hills family gets a new ceiling

The family is now happy to see their home fixed.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – THE family of five and one pregnant woman who were woken by the shocking sound of a ceiling falling in on the morning of Monday May 05 around 03:00 has received help.

The family can now live in a safe and healthy flat thanks to community members and Faeeza Chame, who used her own money to buy ceiling and paint for the family.

The mother of the family Vivian de Villiers called Faeeza, who came and took photos of the flat while it was in an unbearable condition.

Faeeza then came back with material to fix the family’s home and asked community members to help install the new ceiling and paint the walls.

The furniture in the home was ruined and could not be used again as evrything was infested with pigeon lice.

The ceiling was home to a flock of pigeons that caused the damage as they forced their way to the inside of the roof.

Faeeza has given the family something they will always appreciate, and she is still persevering to get more support from other sponsors.

Family member Rene de Villiers said: “We are very happy and appreciate everything Faeeza and the community has done for us. It is cold these days so my mother is really happy to have a ceiling installed at home.”
