Time to protect children

“We are here to ensure that we create a safe and clean environment for our children to play,” said Jackie Schoeman.

TURFFONTEIN – Chrisway Religious and Social Services and Cotlands partnered in an initiative to invest time and education to children on Child Protection Day at Rotunda Park, Turffontein on Thursday May 29.

Scores of crèches gathered at the park to listen to various speakers including; Pastor Kavine Caroo, Cotlands CEO Jackie Schoeman, Social Workers Ruth Letsoalo and Rachel Phaahla. Other speakers were from Childline, Johannesburg Water, Fire Department, Olwyn’s Funtainment, Sanca, Booysens SAPS and Chrisway.

“We are here to ensure that we create a safe and clean environment for our children to play,” said Jackie Schoeman. Also Ruth Letsoalo added that it is important to teach children about safety and most importantly they must listen to elders… especially their parents.
