Twenty-four hour knitting marathon

Twenty-four hour marathon hopes to break world record.

Breakthrough Creative Events and Marketing, a division of Dunamis International Family Church, a non-profit organisation, will be hosting a 24-hour knitting marathon.

The goal of the event is to knit as many scarves as possible in a 24-hour period.

The event will be held from 6pm on May 23 to 6pm on May 24, at the Gereformeerde Kerk, in Piercy Avenue, Parkhill Gardens.

After the event all the scarves that have been knitted will be donated to poor schools and homeless children.

“This event is a community upliftment project and we hope it will both give back to the community and also get different communities to interact with one another,” said the marketing manager of the organisation, Natashia Theron.

Please note that it is not compulsory for anyone who attends this event stay the full 24 hours.

“They can come and go as they please – if they do want to stay the full 24 hours they are more than welcome,” added Theron.
