OAKDENE – John Mallow, a resident of Lebombo Avenue, said, “Water had been leaking from this hydrant for about four months before a team from Joburg Water came out to attend to it. After they had finished repairing the leak they left the water hydrant uncovered with pieces of the protection cover all over the pavement.
“Now it’s five months later and still the water hydrant has been left as it was. I phoned Joburg Water about four weeks ago and put in a complaint, receiving reference number, 8001770934. Still no one has been out to attend to the mess. The hole is now partially filled with fallen leaves and you can just see the top of the water hydrant sticking out,” said an irate Mallow.
