Zoleka and Ndileka Mandela to attend Gandhi Walk

The 29th Gandhi Walk takes place on Sunday May 18 at the Gandhi Hall, Impala Crescent, Ext 5, Lenasia.

LENASIA – This year’s walk has been dedicated to the memory of Nelson Mandela (Madiba) and Zoleka and Ndileka Mandela granddaughters of Madiba, will be participating in the walk.

With this year’s walk being a very special event, walkers in excess of 5 000 are expected to participate. A photo gallery of Madiba will be set up for all to view.

The 10km walk will commence at 09:00 and the 5km at 09:15. The start and finish will be at Gandhi Hall. The cost of a walk ticket is R20 for either walk.

Tickets are available for purchase at all Computicket  outlets nationwide, and also at all Shoprite and Checkers Stores. Walkers can also enter online: www.gandhiwalk.org.za

Walk tickets will also be available for purchase on the day of the walk from 06:30 at the registration tables at Gandhi Hall.

The first 3 000 walkers to complete the walk will receive commemorative T-shirts and the winners will be awarded trophies.

Gandhi Walk is a charity fun walk for health and unity. Donations will be given to a few needy organisations.

Gorgeous Miss SA, Miss India SA and Miss Earth SA will be riding in open cars with the walkers. Walkers will be able to enjoy beauty while walking.

Free medical tests for blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol will be available. .

Waseef Piekaan, a renowned artist/ comedian from Cape Town will entertain all. For his performance in his one man show, Wrongly Accused, he was awarded best actor award.
