Naturena resident made German citizen by Home Affairs

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of democracy, some government departments perform very poorly, like Home Affairs.

NATURENA – Dan Tjotjo Cele (60) of Naturena went to apply for the new ID and to his surprise Home Affairs changed his citizenship.

He went to apply for the ID back in 2003 and his ID declared that he was born in Germany. Dan went back in 2008 but nothing changed.

“I have being struggling to have my new ID for the past 11 years, but the department cannot help. I am now too old to go to that horrible department and now is it more difficult for me use these IDs, as they are rejected everywhere,” he said.

Dan appears on the voters roll, and at least he was very pleased to cast his 2014 vote using his old ID.

“And in celebration of the 20th anniversary of democracy, some government departments perform very poorly, like Home Affairs,” he noted.
