JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Liefde en Vrede has become the hot spot for luxury cars to criminals hijacking people next to their homes and in the streets.
On Thursday April 24, a concerned citizen and victim of hijacking called the COURIER to warn people about the hijackings taking place in the area.
She said she was hijacked by criminals who took her Mercedes Benz on Wednesday night April 9.
Her friend and neighbour was also hijacked, possibly by the same people, on Wednesday night April 23 and a Nissan Navara was taken.
She said another neighbour from Vleiloerie Crescent’s BMW was allegedly hijacked.
The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, believes the hijackers strike at night, usually around 19:30.
“I want people to know and be aware of what is happening in our community. Something needs be done to stop these criminals,” she added.
