JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – AFTER it was reported that bushes growing at Moffatview Simmer Crescent and nearby streets lure snakes, DA Clr Bev Turk acted swiftly to take the matter to Housing and City Parks.

Some on the streets in the area where turning into unsafe bushes and one resident found a snake in her home.

The COURIER discovered tall grass on Henderson Road and other streets deteriorating through potholes or grass.

“I woke up to a call from a resident just to let me know that a snake was in their house. My concern was for the residents and the

children who love to play in the stream. I asked myself what can happen if a snake bites a child.

“I have spoken to Housing and City Parks, and hopefully something will be done,” said Bev Turk.
