Arrests in Booysens

There were 64 arrests from March 10 to 16 at Booysens Police Station.

BOOYSENS – From March 10 to 16 a total of 64 arrests were made by Booysens Police.

These arrests include: one – armed robbery, 12 – assault common, seven – assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, 20 – drug related incidents, five – possession of stolen copper, one – rape and four – theft.

Offence: Possession of suspected stolen property

On Monday March 10 members of Vispol at Booysens SAPS booked on duty for their normal shift. While doing patrols in the Nasrec area, they noticed a vehicle that was driving recklessly. They decided to pull the vehicle over to search it. They identified themselves to the occupants as police officials. While searching the vehicle they found two bags containing copper strips and 30 bundles of copper wire in the boot. The occupants of the vehicle were arrested and brought to Booysens SAPS for further investigation.

Offence: Theft

On Wednesday March 12 at 09:30 members from City Power were doing patrols in the Booysens area when they noticed black smoke coming from an open piece of veld. They decided to go and investigate, when they saw two unknown males coming from the direction of the fire. The members decided to get out of their vehicle and walk toward the fire to find out what was burning. When the approached the area, they noticed that the suspect were burning the rubber off copper cables. The suspects were caught and brought to Booysens Police Station, where they were placed under arrest.
