Car stolen at Citrine Court parking area

Sandile Phanyane's car was a 1989 white BMW 352i.

BELLAVISTA – Sandile Phanyane’s white BMW 3 series was stolen from the parking lot, Citrine Court, Bellavista on Wednesday morning around 10:20 on March 5.

When Sandile came back from accompanying his wife to work, he parked his car and went into his flat. When he came back, he was shocked when he couldn’t locate his car.

“I quickly went to the security guards at the gate and asked them. They told me they saw the car leaving, I was livid as it was my car that was stolen. Worse, I still had the car-keys with me,” explained Sandile.

What worries Sandile most is that he is self-employed and he uses the car to run his errands. All his tools were inside the car when it was stolen. “How will I pay my rental and other stuff now? I think there was negligence when it comes to the security,” noted Sandile.

One resident who phoned the COURIER said apparently Joshco changed the security guards less than 24 hours before the car was stolen. “We were used to the other security guards and then these new ones came and this happens,” she said.

The COURIER contacted Ward 55 Clr Rashieda Landis, who referred queries to Queen (011 433 0386) who didn’t answer the phone. The COURIER also contacted Robert Muthubi from Joshco for comment, but in vain.

Sandile reported the matter at Booysens Police Station and he has the case number.
