Youth make a difference to learners

If there is anyone who would like to assist in regard to any current or future projects, do not hesitate to contact Pastor Jonathan Els on 072 992 3762 or email him at jonathanedwardels@gmail.com

KIBLER PARK  – The youth of Kibler Park Full Gospel Church have recently embarked on making a noticeable difference in their community.

“We have endeavoured to impact the lives of people, young and old, in and around our community by meeting felt needs as we become aware of them and as God enables us. We believe that preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ is best demonstrated by meeting a felt need,” said Pastor Jonathan Els.

In the process one of their young people, Lebohang Mkhabela, spearheaded an initiative whereby the youth collected school shoes to donate to children who have started the year without shoes. The youth was afforded the opportunity to donate these shoes to a group of children at Danie Theron Primary School on Monday February 3. In the process the youth had the privilege of meeting Mrs Weimers from Danie Theron Primary School, who introduced them to the children who would benefit from this initiative and also conveyed a greater need that they would like to assist with.

Mrs Weimers has taken responsibility to provide a warm meal and sandwiches on a daily basis to more than 20 children at the school, sometimes with assistance from churches and others, and often in her own capacity. As a church they would love to further assist the school and do not see the ‘Shoe Project’ as a once-off event, but would ideally like to form a relationship with the school whereby they can assist in meeting other needs such as ingredients for meals etc.

The reason the church exists in this community is because they have been placed here to leave a clear fingerprint on the lives of people who reside, work and go to school here. Their goal in the youth ministry is to raise up young people who will eventually leave a legacy of love behind for the next generation. By meeting specific needs, loving the community and choosing to live a godly lifestyle they aim to achieve this.
