Clarins honours women with great social impact

Clarins celebrates most dynamic women who make a difference to the lives of children in South Africa.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The French luxury cosmetic company Clarins South Africa is gearing up to reveal the name of the Clarins Most Dynamic Woman of the Year 2013 at a cocktail function in Johannesburg on February 4.

The award ceremony will takes place in more than 15 countries around the world and has been running in South Africa for the past 11 years. The aim is to acknowledge and reward dynamic and selfless women who are making a difference in the lives of underprivileged children and their communities.

Every second year the South African public is asked to nominate phenomenal women through Fairlady, Sarie and True Love platforms. Finalists are then nominated and the winner selected.

The winner of the Clarins Most Dynamic Woman of the Year 2013 will receive a cash prize of R150 000 and a further R50 000 in 2015 should her project show sustainability and growth.

The last recipient of the award is Angela Larkan, who founded the Thanda non-profit organisation. She was recognised for the work she has done to fight the destructive impact of HIV/AIDS and poverty on orphans in the rural communities she supports in KwaZulu-Natal.

Jody Hyam, Communications Executive of Clarins South Africa, said: “Each year, we look for inspirational women who are helping to empower communities and solve social problems.

“Choosing a winner among the determined, compassionate and dedicated nominees is never easy, but it is always heartening to see the courage and selflessness of the women working so hard to make this a better country.”
