Diversity High reaches scores 93 per cent

Diversity High School is one of the good performing schools in the Southern Suburbs

SOUTH HIILS – The school is commended for its efforts to improve and stabilise matric results.

Learners at Diversity High School achieved a 93% pass rate which is 3% higher than that of last year. In January 2012 Diversity High School made headlines when their pass rate increased by 20%. In 2013, 102 learners out of 110 who wrote final exams, passed. The pass rate in Accounting and Physical Science has improved significantly. Various distinctions were obtained.

The school attributes its achievements to the implementation of strategies and preventative measures targeted at improving the quality of matric results, including Saturday and school holiday classes (offered free of charge to all matric learners), drilling sessions on common exam mistakes (as outlined by the internal moderators reports), block teaching combined with revision and the support from parents.

Mr Maboya, the principal of Diversity high school said, “Matric results is an important indicator of the quality of our education system and as a school we cannot afford to allow young people to achieve results that are in the main average or below. I wish to thank our dedicated staff who has committed themselves to the delivery of quality teaching and learning, to acknowledge the role of the SGB in supporting the intervention programme and I also want to congratulate the class of 2013!”
