Appreciation from JHB Society for the Blind
On behalf of the visually impaired people that we serve we would like to extend our sincere appreciation for supporting the cause of people with disabilities in 2013.
ROSEACRE – As it is the end of another successful year of promoting the abilities of people with visual impairment, Johannesburg Society for the Blind (JSB) wishes to thank its donors, development partners and government departments for all the support rendered in the year 2013.
Being a Non-Profit Organisation, the organisation depends on the generous support of both private and corporate donors in realising its vision of “assisting the blind to walk unafraid”.
JSB is committed to promoting the rights and abilities of visually impaired people through rehabilitation programmes, education and the provision of skills and resources for independent living.
Services offered include:
•Early Childhood Development facilities for blind children
•Custom-made HIV and AIDS programme
•Adult Education and Training
•ICT and Call Centre Training
•Residential facility
•Cane weaving and basketry workshop and training
•Braille printing
•Community outreach
•Social work interventions.
