City Parks responds in a flash

Stormy weather blows over big tree in Kibler Park.

KIBLER PARK – The recent stormy weather conditions that had heavy rain and strong winds closing many southern residents indoors, is said to be the culprit behind a fallen tree on Peggy Vera Road in Kibler Park on November 25.

“We received a call from the Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre this morning informing us that a tree had been blown over by the rain and wind and we came to attend to the matter,” said one of the maintenance workers.

The tree had fallen on the recreation centre’s fence, leaving it damaged. The swift response by the maintenance men was welcomed by passing residents.

The City Parks maintenance workers have been hard at work going around the south of Johannesburg trimming and cutting down dried up trees that have become a nuisance to homeowners.
