A new crime-busting initiative will soon be launched in Gauteng

Every organisation willing to come is welcome to participate.

KIBLER PARK – Running under the theme ‘Vula’mehlo’ – “Keep Your Eyes Open”, the initiative is the brain-child of the Molalatladi Safety Moves which has partnered with the Gauteng Province Community Safety to launch this drive through a one day Safety and Security Expo to be held on Saturday, November 23 at the Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre in Kibler Park, south of Johannesburg. The event starts at 09:00.

The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety Faith Mazibuko and the Joburg Executive Mayor Parks Tau will lead an interactive workshop where community members will be able to engage with a panel of safety and security experts.

Other stakeholders will include: Households, school, places of worship, business, NGO’s such as POWA, CPF, exhibitors and celebrities.

“We are launching this initiative in the south of Johannesburg as a pilot project, “said Enos Magwabeni, the co-founder of Molalatladi Safety Moves.

“As soon as this gets traction, we will expand to the other parts of Johannesburg and eventually cover the whole Gauteng region with the aim going national,” he said.

This first expo, as a consequence, targets the communities of the southern Johannesburg areas covering the suburbs of Mulbarton, Aspen Hills, Gleneagles, Liefde-en-Vrede, Bassonia, Glenvista, Glenanda, Suideroord, Alan Manor, Meredale, Winchester Hills, Mondeor, Ridgeway, Naturena, Ormonde View, Kibler Park, Eikenhof, Rispark, Patlyn, Mayfield Park, Alveda Park, Jacksons and Diepkloof Extension.
