Voters registration weekend

About two million born-frees reportedly registered for next year's elections.

JOBURG SOUTH – On November 9 and 10, it was the days to register in order for one to be eligible to vote in 2014, the South African 5th National election since democratic elections in 1994.

South Africa will be celebrating 20 years of democracy, and the COURIER visited some of the voting stations in Ward 25, and Ward 119 just to witness the electoral process.

Young people born in 1994 onwards or the born-free were registering for the first time as some were turning 18 years and others 19 years old.

On record the IEC said about two million young people registered on the weekend nationally, small figures as compared to previous registrations throughout the years.
