Shocking twist in robbery shooting incident

Mondeor SAPS revealed full story on shooting incident where two suspects were killed and two others injured.

KIBLER PARK: ACCORDING to the report, the incident that resulted in two people shot dead, two injured and one arrested as it was initially posted by the Glenvista Policing Forum on October 21, was actually due to a property dispute.

Although a case of housebreaking was opened with the Mondeor Police, after five males between 37 and 45 years old, reportedly broke into the home through the burglar door in the kitchen and allegedly attempted to attack the home owner with hammers.

The home had been sold to the current owner at an auction … to the previous owners dismay.

“On October 21 the owner of the house in Main Service Road alleged that he saw five males cutting the chain of the gate,” revealed Mondeor SAPS spokesperson, Sibongile Mnguni.

That is when the man in the home got his firearm and fired the shots that injured two of the males. The vehicles used by the alleged suspects were recovered by police at the scene of the shooting.

A security guard at a nearby school said he hadn’t been aware of what had occurred until parents coming to pick their children up all came through an alternative route as Main Service Road was barricaded by police.

“Parents had to use the main road in order to access the school from the other street because the road was closed by the police,” he said.

Although the incident took place while many of the residents of Kibler Park were still at work, a number of people say they were aware of what had happened on the morning of October 21.
