Game donates to victims of xenophobia

Game would like to express deep concern regarding the recent attacks against foreign nationals in South Africa.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Game responded to requests for help to victims of xenophobia from affected communities through humanitarian aid group Gift of the Givers by donating a total amount of R100 000 in consumable goods

Canned food and groceries such as rice, maize meal, cereal and hygiene products were donated to the affected communities as part of the store’s commitment to assist those who have been displaced by the recent spate of attacks.

Game CEO Robin Wright said: “We commend Gift of the Givers for evacuating foreign nationals to places of safety, and we believe that it is crucial that all necessary steps be taken to assist those in need.

“Pivotal to Game’s core beliefs is the value of respect for the individual. We serve communities that are comprised of individuals from diverse national backgrounds, and we believe in operating with integrity and treating everyone with respect.

“We as Game are committed to making a positive impact on the affected communities, and we believe that our donation will make a difference in the lives of those who have been affected by the acts of violence.”

Gift of the Givers is in the process of taking delivery of the goods donated by Game for distribution nationwide.
