HELEN STRFUSS: “Taxi drivers should table their matters in a matured way because our children use taxis so it scares me to see this kind of shootings. What if my son gets hurt? If this isn’t stopped many lives will be lost.”

FOLLOWING the gruesome murder of 10 taxi drivers on July 21 commuters have been left scared for their lives. The COURIER took the conversation to the streets asking readers what must be done to prevent this violence.

THAPELO MAKHALEMELE: “Taxi violence is something that has been a concern so the only way for them to stop this is if they could resolve their issues. Innocent people can get hurt by this taxi violence.”
EMMANUEL KABONGO: “Love and peace should be what the taxi drivers strive for as the late Nelson Mandela taught us to love each other. No one wants to see their loved ones hurt so they must spare a thought their families as well.”
LUNGILE MTSHALI: “I believe that to stop this violence, government should replace the taxis by introducing buses. We as commuters are tired of these shootings so the only way for this to stop is that a new transport mode must be introduced.”
