It was a festive occasion at Turn ’n Tender restaurant Bassonia recently, when youngsters and staff of St Mary’s Children’s Home were treated to a delicious lunch.

IT was a festive occasion at Turn ’n Tender restaurant Bassonia recently, when youngsters and staff of St Mary’s Children’s Home were treated to a delicious lunch.

As part of the occasion, Dimitri Papadakis, co-owner of the restaurant, handed over a donation of R50 000 to Sonja Harmse, director of the children’s home.

The money had been raised through a raffle where tickets were sold for two paintings and a bottle of wine. The paintings were donated by artists Dalila de Matos and Lois Fisher to raise much-needed funds for the children’s home.

“We are thrilled our paintings have helped to raise some money for the home and we know it will be put to good use in taking care of the children,” said Lois and Dalila.

THANKS FOR THE LUNCH: A great time was had by all.

Dimitri thanked Famous Brands for their assistance in organising the raffle as well as all the customers, family and friends who supported the worthy cause.

The raffle winners were Andrew Mundell, Mervyn Aaron and Brian Aaron.
