Rosy Rosettenville

One of the shop owners on Main Street had requested for big PikitUp bin bags from the public relations officer of Oakdene Neighboorhood Watch to clean up the area.

CLEANING up Main Street in Rosettenville has become a priority for many local shop owners in the area.

One of the shop owners on Main Street recently asked Phillip Venter, the public relations officer of Oakdene Neighbourhood Watch, for big Pikitup bin bags.

Since then, shop owners in the area are being encouraged to clean the area in front of their shops. Not long after this plea was made, about twenty bags were filled with litter.

Meyer Benjamin, who has initiated a drive to clean-up Main Street, provided transport to take the filled bags to a nearby dump.

“A lot more has to be done to improve the quality of life in our suburbs and by standing together the community can bring about change for the better and the Oakdene Neighbourhood Watch is proud to be part of this initiative and to be actively involved,” said Venter.
