Closure for the Tshabalala family

Sebolai was sentenced to 20 year for murdering his girlfriend Dolly Tshabalala and five years for defeating the ends of justice. The sentences will run concurrently.

THE Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi–Malobane, welcomes the sentencing in the former Jozi fm Dj, Donald Sebolai’s case today (4 March) at the Johannesburg High Court sitting at Palm Ridge Magistrate Court.

Sebolai was sentenced to 20 year for murdering his girlfriend Dolly Tshabalala and five years for defeating the ends of justice. The sentences will run concurrently.

“I hope that the sentence handed down will send a strong message to criminals out there that the criminal justice system will not hesitate to impose harsher sentences to those found guilty of such atrocious crimes. Our hats are off to the police for the thorough investigation, arrest of the perpetrator and putting together a water-tight case. This demonstrates our unwavering war on the abuse and brutal murder of our daughters, sisters, mothers and grandmothers are subjected to in the hands of their lovers. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Tshabalala family and we hope that they have finally found closure,” said MEC Nkosi – Malobane.
