More learners arrive on time

Eden Park SAPS was summoned to the school to disperse the rude learners

“LEARNERS are late for school, and to top it all, they arrive with cheeky, defiant and arrogant attitudes and even throw stones at the teachers’ cars entering the gate,” said teacher S Mogale.

Half of the school’s learners at Eden Park Secondary School were standing outside the premises on Wednesday, February 3 because they were all late for school.

The policy at the school is that every learner must be inside the school premises at 07:45, but many learners only arrive at 08:00, and the number of late-comers just keeps on growing.

Eden Park SAPS was summoned to the school to disperse the rude learners who, as the RECORD discovered, were only half of the crowd, with the other half consisting of learners who were showing remorse for being late.

The crowd dispersed and left in different directions, with the arrogant ones shouting that they were happy to leave.

The RECORD spoke to the school principal, Me EM Naudé, again on Friday, February 12 to find out whether there had been any improvement. She told the RECORD that there had been a drastic improvement and that it was only a handful of children who were late for school.
