Fun day out for children

It was heart-warming to see the smiles on their faces while escaping into the magic of the movies.

NU Metro Cinemas at The Glen invited 28 people from St Francis Care Foundation in Johannesburg South on Saturday, February 6, and treated them to a special screening of the new animated comedy-adventure, Norm of the North.

For most of them, it was their first opportunity ever to visit a cinema, with one of the little ones even exclaiming: “Wow, that is a big TV!”

It was heart-warming to see the smiles on their faces while escaping into the magic of the movies. The staff at Nu Metro The Glen ensured the movie excursion ran smoothly, from the allocation of tickets to preparing popcorn and sodas for the guests, and also assisting to seat the younger children.

Happiness was the order of the day and everyone lined up to say thank you to Nu Metro after an unforgettable cinema experience.

Most of the children in the care of the St Francis Foundation are either orphaned or have been removed from their homes and placed safely within the foundation. For donations and further information, please contact Marlene Williams on 078 681 1318. (St Francis Care Foundation, NPO #042-463).
