Motorist escapes death on the N12
Officers at the scene said the motorist was lucky to escape alive and without any serious injuries
A motorist escaped death on the N12 East Voortrekker off-ramp after a truck dropped a roll of industrial coil on Thursday morning, December 10.
According to the truck driver, the incident was caused by another driver overtaking the truck abruptly. To avoid colliding with the vehicle, he made an emergency stop.
Officers at the scene were amazed that the motorist, who was driving the vehicle which the coil fell on, escaped without any injuries.
The vehicle was damaged in the incident. EMPD officers and Sanral officials were at the scene, struggling to remove the coil from the ground and onto a Sanral truck. No injuries were reported. More to follow.
